Coolant Temperature Sensor/Switch (For Computer): Service and Repair

REMOVAL
1. Drain the engine cooling system.
2. Disconnect the battery ground cable.







3. Disconnect the Engine Coolant Temperature sensor electrical connector.







4. Remove the Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor.

INSTALLATION






1. Follow the removal procedure in reverse order.

NOTE: Coat the threads of the engine coolant temperature sensor with Ford Pipe Sealant with Teflon D8AZ-19554-A or equivalent meeting Ford specification WSK-M2G350-A2 prior to installation.

2. Refill the engine cooling system.
