Throttle Body: Description and Operation

Throttle Body Components:

CAUTION: Do not clean inside the throttle body or adjust the hard stop screw. The throttle body bore and plate are coated with a sludge-resistant coating. Any attempt to clean the bore and plate area will impair the effectiveness of the coating. Do not clean the bore and plate area of the throttle body.

The throttle body:
^ controls the air supply to the intake manifold by position of the throttle plate.
^ connects the accelerator cable and the speed control actuator cable (if equipped) to the throttle plate.
^ is not adjustable.
^ cannot be cleaned.
