STEERING GEAR INSTALLED
Removal
1. Hold tie rod end with locking-type pliers on inner tie rod and loosen tie rod jam nut.
2. Remove and discard cotter pin and nut from tie rod end.
3. Disconnect tie rod end from front wheel knuckle using Tie Rod End Remover 211-001 (TOOL-3290-D) or equivalent.
4. Note depth to which tie rod end was located by using the jam nut as a marker. Grip tie rod end with a pair of suitable pliers and remove tie rod end from front wheel spindle tie rod.

Installation
1. Clean tie rod end threads.
2. Thread new tie rod end to same depth as removed tie rod end onto front wheel spindle tie rod.
3. NOTE: Make sure front wheels are pointed straight ahead before connecting tie rod end to front wheel knuckle.

Place tie rod end into front wheel knuckle.
4. Install a new nut on tie rod end stud. Tighten nut to 47 - 63 Nm (35 - 46 ft. lbs.) and continue tightening nut to align next castellation of nut with cotter pin hole in ball stud. Install a new cotter pin.
5. Set toe to specification. Tighten jam nut to 47 - 63 Nm (35 - 46 ft. lbs.).
