Variable Assist Control Valve

The base Taurus/Sable has rack and pinion design integrating a MECHANICAL variable assist power steering (VAPS) system

The VAPS system uses a power steering pump that reduces the flow with speed (engine RPM) to improve smoothness and handling characteristics.
