FRONT AND REAR SEAT SAFETY BELT RETRACTORS

NOTE:
If both rear seat safety belt retractors require replacement, remove the driver-side and passenger-side components during the same step.

1. Position both front seats fully forward.

2. Remove the rear seat cushion.

3. Remove the rear seat safety belt lower anchor bolt(s).

4. Remove the scuff plate(s).





5. Fold-down the rear backrest cushion(s). See Figure 9.

6. Remove the backrest bolster. See Figure 9.

7. Remove the front seat safety belt upper anchor bolt(s). See Figure 9.

8. Remove the coat hook(s). See Figure 9.

9. Remove the upper quarter trim panel(s). See Figure 9.

10. Remove the lower quarter trim panel(s). See Figure 9.





11. If front passenger-side safety belt retractor replacement is required, proceed as follows:

^ Remove the safety belt lower anchor bolt. See Figure 10.

^ Remove the safety bolt retractor retaining bolt, then removed the safety belt retractor. See Figure 10.

^ Install the new safety belt retractor. Tighten the retaining bolt to 40 Nm (30 lb-ft).

^ Install the safety belt lower anchor bolt. Tighten the anchor bolt to 40 Nm (30 lb-ft).





12. If rear retractor(s) replacement is required, proceed as follows:

^ Remove the safety belt upper anchor bolt(s). See Figure 11.

^ Remove the safety belt retractor retaining bolt(s), then remove the safety belt retractor(s). See Figure 11.

^ Install the new safety belt retractor(s). Tighten the retaining bolt(s) to 40 Nm (30 lb-ft).

^ Install the safety belt upper anchor bolt(s). Tighten the anchor bolt(s) to 40 Nm (30 lb-ft).

13. Install the lower quarter trim panel. Route the front seat safety belt through the trim panel before final installation.

14. Install the upper quarter trim panel. Route the rear seat safety belt through the trim panel before final installation.

15. Install the coat hook(s). Tighten the screw securely.

16. Install the front seat safety belt upper anchor bolt(s). Tighten the anchor bolt(s) to 40 Nm (30 lb-ft).

17. Install the backrest bolster. Tighten the retaining bolts to 11 Nm (8 lb-ft).

18. Position the rear backrest cushion(s) to the upright position.

19. Install the scuff plates(s).

20. Install the rear seat safety lower anchor bolt(s). Tighten the anchor bolt(s) to 40 Nm (30 lb-ft).

21. Install the rear seat cushion.

22. Position both front seats in their original position.
