Fuel Tank Cleaning

1. If required, steam-clean fuel tank.

WARNING: FUEL SUPPLY LINES ON ALL VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH FUEL INJECTED ENGINES WILL REMAIN PRESSURIZED FOR LONG PERIODS OF TIME AFTER ENGINE SHUTDOWN. FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE MUST BE RELIEVED PRIOR TO FUEL SYSTEM SERVICE TO PREVENT POSSIBLE INJURY.

CAUTION: Remove the fuel pump module prior to steaming fuel tank. Care should be exercised not to deform the plastic fuel pump module retainer inside the tank with excessively hot steam or direct contact with plastic surface to prevent possible component damage.

NOTE: Fuel tanks do not require special cleaning procedures.

2. Allow fuel tank to thoroughly air dry.
