Fuel Injector: Service and Repair

REMOVAL







1. Perform Fuel Charging System, Pre-Service Procedure and Fuel Pressure Relief procedure.
2. Remove upper intake manifold.
3. Remove fuel injection supply manifold with fuel injectors.







4. Remove the fuel injectors from fuel injection supply manifold by rocking fuel injector from side-to-side while pulling up gently.
5. Inspect the fuel injector O-rings (two per fuel injector); replace as required.







6. Inspect fuel injector end cap and body for signs of dirt and clean as required.

INSTALLATION
1. Lubricate two new O-rings lightly with clean engine oil meeting Ford specification WSS-M2C153-G.

CAUTION: Never use silicone grease on fuel injector O-rings. It will clog the injectors.

2. Lightly push and twist fuel injectors into fuel injection supply manifold.
3. Install fuel injection supply manifold with fuel injectors.
4. Install upper intake manifold.
5. Perform Fuel Charging System Post-Service Procedures.
