Fuel System - Service

NOTE: Methanol and ethanol are not interchangeable. Methanol fuel can be used only in vehicles designed for methanol fuels. Ethanol fuel can be used only in vehicles designed for ethanol fuels.

All engines use a closed-type positive crankcase ventilation system and an exhaust emission system to control engine emissions within Government specifications.

To maintain the required exhaust emission levels, the fuel metering system must be:
- kept in good operating condition.
- adjusted to specifications.

Additional engine performance checks are required to keep the exhaust emissions at the specified minimum pollutant level.

Always refer to the Master Parts Catalog for parts usage and interchangeability before replacing a throttle body or a component part of throttle body.
