Backup Lamp: Description and Operation

The backup lamp system consists of:
- backup lamp bulb in the rear panel reflector.
- transmission range sensor.
- circuit wiring and circuit protection.
- power is supplied to the transmission range sensor through instrument panel Fuse 6 and Circuit 1087 (O). This fuse is hot in RUN.
- with transaxle in REVERSE, the switch closes and power is provided to backup lamp bulbs through Circuit 140 (BK/PK).
- ground is provided to the backup lamp bulbs through Circuit 57 (BK).
