Intake Manifold: Testing and Inspection
CleaningRemove all gasket material from the machined surfaces of the intake manifold. Clean the intake manifold in a suitable solvent and dry it with compressed air.
Inspection
CAUTION: Remove all filing and foreign matter that may have entered the intake manifold as a result of service or damage to engine may occur.
CAUTION: Check the baffle plates on the underside of the lower intake manifold (if equipped). The baffles should be securely fastened or damage to engine may occur.
Inspect the intake manifolds for cracks, damaged gasket surfaces or other damage that would make them unfit for further service. Replace all studs that are stripped or otherwise damaged. Clean the EGR exhaust passages.
