Radiator Hoses (Upper)

Removal

CAUTION: Do not mix Standard (green) Coolant with Extended Life Coolant (orange). If mixing occurs, drain engine cooling system and refill with originally equipped coolant type. If this contamination occurs, the service Interval on Extended Life Coolant will be reduced from 6 years/150,000 miles to 3 years/30,000 miles.

1. Remove battery.
2. Drain engine cooling system.
3. Compress clamp tangs and disconnect upper radiator hose from radiator.
4. Compress clamp tangs and remove upper radiator hose from water bypass tube.

Installation

1. CAUTION: Make sure the clamps are beyond the radiator tank connector bead and placed in the center of the clamping surface of the connections.





Position the clamps at least 3.2 mm (0.125 inch) from each end of the hose. Coat the connection areas with an approved water-resistant sealer.
2. Compress clamp tangs and install upper radiator hose onto water bypass tube.
3. Compress clamp tangs and install upper radiator hose onto radiator.
4. Fill and bleed engine cooling system.
5. Install battery.
