Radiator Hoses (Lower)
RemovalCAUTION: Do not mix Standard (green) Coolant with Extended Life Coolant (orange). If mixing occurs, drain engine cooling system and refill with originally equipped coolant type. If this contamination occurs, the service interval on Extended Life Coolant will be reduced from 6 years/ 150,000 miles to 3 years/30,000 miles.
1. Raise vehicle on hoist.
2. Drain engine cooling system.
3. Disconnect degas bottle return hose from lower radiator hose.
4. Remove three rear screws retaining lower splash shield to radiator support.
5. Compress clamp tangs and remove lower radiator hose from water inlet housing. Remove lower radiator hose.
Installation
1. CAUTION: Make sure the clamps are beyond the bead and placed in the center of the clamping surface of the connections.
Position the clamps at least 3.2 mm (0.125 inch) from each end of hose. Coat the connection areas with an approved water-resistant sealer.
2. Compress clamp tangs and install lower radiator hose water inlet housing.
3. Compress clamp tangs and install lower radiator hose onto radiator.
4. Install three rear screws retaining lower splash shield to radiator support.
5. Install degas bottle return hose to lower radiator hose. Tighten clamp.
6. Lower vehicle.
7. Fill and bleed engine cooling system.
