Parking Brake Control: Description and Operation
Control AssembliesWARNING: BRAKE FLUID CONTAINS POLYGLYCOL ETHERS AND POLYGLYCOLS. AVOID CONTACT WITH EYES. WASH HANDS THOROUGHLY AFTER HANDLING. IF BRAKE FLUID CONTACTS EYES, FLUSH EYES WITH RUNNING WATER FOR 15 MINUTES. GET MEDICAL ATTENTION IF IRRITATION PERSISTS. IF TAKEN INTERNALLY, DRINK WATER AND INDUCE VOMITING. GET MEDICAL ATTENTION IMMEDIATELY.
The parking brake system is cable-actuated and controlled by an independent foot-operated parking brake control.
Cable Actuated Rear Wheel Parking Brake
An independent foot-operated parking brake control actuates the rear brake shoe and lining through a cable system.
^ To release the parking brake, a parking brake release handle extends from the lower portion of the instrument panel, left of the steering column. Pull on this handle to release the parking brake.
