Front

Removal
1. Raise vehicle on hoist.

2. NOTE: It is not necessary to disconnect hydraulic connection.

Remove disc brake caliper. Remove front disc brake rotor.

3. Remove three rivets retaining front disc brake rotor shield to front wheel knuckle by punching out the mandrel located in the center of the rivet. With a chisel, cut off rivet at front wheel knuckle and punch out rivet remaining in hole.

4. Remove front disc brake rotor shield by pulling it outward.

Installation
1. Locate front disc brake rotor shield until front disc brake rotor shield mounting surfaces contact front wheel knuckle mounting bosses and holes in front wheel knuckle bosses are aligned with mounting holes in front disc brake rotor shield.
2. Install new rivets using Heavy-Duty Riveter 501-DO11 (D80L-23200-A) or equivalent (three per front disc brake rotor shield) through mounting holes in front disc brake rotor shield and front wheel knuckle. The rivet body head should clamp front disc brake rotor shield retainers securely to front wheel knuckle bosses.
3. Install front disc brake rotor and disc brake caliper using new bolts.
4. Make certain front disc brake rotor shield does not contact front disc brake rotor. Rotate wheel to visually inspect for contact.

5. CAUTION: Failure to tighten lug nuts in a star pattern may result in high rotor runout, which will speed up the development of brake roughness, shudder and vibration.

Install wheel and tire assembly on vehicle. Tighten lug nuts to 115 - 142 Nm (85 - 104 ft. lbs.) using Rotunda Accutorq Lug Nut Socket 164-R0303 or equivalent on a 1/2 inch air impact wrench, or use a torque wrench.
6. Lower vehicle.
7. Pump brake pedal prior to moving the vehicle to position brake linings.
8. Road test vehicle.
