Door Sensor/Switch (For Alarm): Service and Repair

REMOVAL
1. Remove door trim panel and watershield.
2. Remove outside door handle.







3. Disconnect connector for door lock cylinder switch from harness and pull out two harness retaining clips from inner door.







4. Remove door lock cylinder retainer retaining door lock cylinder to front door and remove door lock cylinder.







5. Before disassembly of the door lock cylinder switch from the door lock cylinder, mark the position of the front door latch operating lever and door lock cylinder switch. The door lock cylinder switch can be installed in more than one position on the door lock cylinder. If not correctly positioned, the door lock cylinder switch will not function properly. If replacing the door lock cylinder switch, mark new door lock cylinder switch exactly as old door lock cylinder switch.







6. Remove E-clip from door lock cylinder.
7. Remove front door latch operating lever and door lock cylinder switch from door lock cylinder.

INSTALLATION







1. Install door lock cylinder switch, front door latch operating lever and E-clip to door lock cylinder.

NOTE: When installing a new door lock cylinder switch, make sure it is indexed correctly installing on the door lock cylinder.







2. Install door lock cylinder to vehicle with door lock cylinder switch oriented, following removal procedure in reverse order.
3. Verify door lock cylinder switch operation.
