REMOVAL
1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
2. Remove the air cleaner.







3. Remove the air cleaner bracket.
1 Remove the bolts.
2 Remove the bracket.







4. Disconnect the starter motor electrical connectors.







5. Remove the starter motor support bracket.
1 Remove two nuts and one bolt.
2 Remove the bracket.







6. Remove the shift cable bracket bolts.
- Disconnect the shift cable.







7. Detach the fuel supply and return tubes from the support brackets.







8. Remove the starter bolts.
- Remove the starter bolts.
- Remove the starter.

INSTALLATION






















1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

NOTE: When the battery is disconnected and reconnected, some abnormal drive symptoms may occur while the vehicle relearns its adaptive strategy. The vehicle may need to be driven 16 km (10 miles) or more to relearn the strategy.
