Ignition Switch Continuity Test
Ignition Switch Continuity Check1. Remove the steering column shrouds.
2. Disconnect the ignition switch electrical connector C456.
3. With the ignition switch in the OFF position, measure the resistance between ignition switch C456 pin 1, circuit 30 BB9 (RD), and all other pins. The resistance should be greater than 10,000 ohms.
4. With the ignition switch in the ACC position, measure the resistance between ignition switch C456 pin 1, circuit 30 BB9 (RD), and ignition switch C456 pin 8, circuit 75 DA1 (YE). The resistance should be less than 5 ohms.
5. With the ignition switch in the RUN position, measure the resistance between ignition switch C456 pin 1, circuit 30 BB9 (RD), and ignition switch C456 pin 4, circuit 15 DA2 (GN), also measure the resistance between ignition switch C456 pin 1, circuit 30 BB9 (RD) and ignition switch C456 pin 8, circuit 75 DA1 (YE). The resistance should be less than 5 ohms.
6. With the ignition switch held in the START position, measure the resistance between ignition switch C456 pin 1, circuit 30 BB9 (RD) and ignition switch C456 pin 5, circuit 50 BB11 (GY/WH). The resistance should be less than 5 ohms.
7. If the resistance is not as specified above, INSTALL a new ignition switch.
