Accumulator HVAC: Service and Repair

Spring Lock Coupling Disconnect Tool Set:

SPECIAL TOOL(S)


REMOVAL
1. Reclaim the refrigerant.







2. Disconnect the line from the suction accumulator to the A/C compressor and disconnect the electrical connector.

NOTE:
^ Seal the line and the connection with plugs.
^ Use the "black" special tool form the tool set.







3. Support the radiator with pins (left-hand side shown).
4. Raise and support the vehicle.







5. Remove the radiator splash shield.







6. Remove the radiator bracket (left-hand side only).







7. Disconnect the line from the suction accumulator to the evaporator.

NOTE:
^ Seal the line and the connection with plugs.
^ Use the "white" special tool from the tool set.







8. Remove the suction accumulator bracket bolts.







9. Remove the air conditioning system A/C cycling switch.

INSTALLATION












1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
^ Check A/C system for normal operation.

NOTE: Replace the O-rings and coat them with refrigerant oil.
