Shift Cable: Service and Repair

Removal
1. Move the selector lever to position "N".

Vehicles with 2.0L engine
2. Remove the Air Cleaner (AC).

Vehicles with 2.5L engine
3. Remove the Air Cleaner (AC).





4. Disconnect the selector cable from the automatic transaxle selector lever.
1. Remove the bolts.
2. Disconnect the selector cable.
^ Disconnect the selector cable from the bracket.
5. Raise the vehicle.
6. Remove the heat shield.





7. Disconnect the selector cable from the selector lever assembly.
1. Disconnect the selector cable.
2. Unlatch the selector cable adjusting cap and disconnect it from the bracket.


Installation





1. Attach the selector cable to the selector lever assembly.

NOTE: Do not lock the selector cable adjusting cap.

1. Insert the selector cable to the bracket.
2. Clip the selector cable in place.
2. Reinstall the heat shield.
3. Lower the vehicle.





4. Connect the shifter cable.
1. Position the cable.
2. Install the bolts.
3. Connect the cable.
5. Adjust the selector cable.

Vehicles with 2.5L engine
6. Install the Air Cleaner (AC).

Vehicles with 2.0L engine
7. Install the Air Cleaner (AC).
