Removal and Installation

REMOVAL


1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
2. Remove the air cleaner.







3. Remove the starter motor upper bolts.

NOTE: The engine ground cable is secured by one of the starter motor bolts.


4. Raise and support the vehicle.







5. Disconnect the starter motor electrical connectors.







6. Remove the starter motor lower bolt and remove the starter motor.

INSTALLATION

















1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

NOTE: When the battery is disconnected and reconnected, some abnormal drive symptoms may occur while the vehicle relearns its adaptive strategy. The vehicle may need to be driven 16 km (10 miles) or more to relearn the strategy.
