Initial Inspection and Diagnostic Overview

1. Verify that the problem is with the Evaporative Emission (EVAP) system and not some other computer controlled problem.
2. Inspect to determine if any of the following mechanical concerns apply:

VISUAL INSPECTION CHART

Mechanical
^ Fuel filler cap.
^ Visually inspect EVAP test port.
^ Loose or disconnected components.
^ Damaged EVAP canister or vent solenoid.
