Contour

REMOVAL
1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.







2. Disconnect the clock.
^ Lever the clock out from the right-hand lower corner first.







3. Remove the clock.
^ Disconnect the electrical connector.
4. Remove the drivers side lower instrument panel.
1 Remove the bolt covers.
2 Remove the five driver side lower instrument panel screws.







5. Remove the headlamp switch panel.
1 Remove the retaining screws.
2 Release the retaining clips and remove the panel.







6. Push the heated rear window switch panel out from behind.

CAUTION: Do not lever the switch out.







7. Disconnect the electrical connectors.







8. Detach the instrument cluster bezel.
^ Remove the five screws.







9. Remove the instrument cluster bezel.
1 Remove the O-ring and detach the sensor.
2 Pull the bezel clear and remove.







10. Detach the instrument cluster.
^ Remove the screws.







11. Disconnect the electrical connectors (steering wheel removed for clarity).

INSTALLATION
1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

NOTE: When the battery is disconnected and reconnected, some abnormal drive symptoms may occur while the vehicle relearns its adaptive strategy. The vehicle may need to be driven 16 km (10 miles) or more to relearn the strategy.
