Accumulator HVAC: Service and Repair

Spring Lock Coupling Disconnect Tool Set:

SPECIAL TOOL(S)

REMOVAL
1. Reclaim the refrigerant.







2. Disconnect the line from the suction accumulator to the A/C compressor and disconnect the electrical connector.

NOTE:
^ Seal the line and the connection with plugs.
^ Use the special tool from the tool set.







3. Disconnect the evaporator line from the suction accumulator.

NOTE:
^ Seal the line and the connection with plugs.
^ Use the "black" special tool from the tool set.

4. Raise and support the vehicle.







5. Remove the radiator splash shield.







6. Remove the suction accumulator bracket bolts.







7. Remove the conditioning system A/C cycling switch.

INSTALLATION












1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
^ Check A/C system for normal operation.

NOTE: Replace the O-rings and coat them with refrigerant oil.
