Water Pump: Service and Repair

Removal
1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
2. Slacken the wheel nuts.
3. Drain the cooling system.
4. Remove the wheel.





5. Remove the right-hand side lower splash shield.
1 Remove the four bolts.
2 Remove the splash shield.

6. Lower the vehicle.





7. Remove the coolant expansion tank.
1 Disconnect the hoses.
2 Remove the bolts.
3 Remove the expansion tank.





8. Install the engine support.





9. Remove the front engine support bracket.
1 Remove the nuts.
2 Remove the bolts.
3 Remove the bracket.





10. Loosen the water pump pulley bolts.
11. Remove the accessory drive belt.





12. Remove the water pump pulley.
1 Remove the bolts.
2 Remove the pulley.





13. Remove the water pump bolts.





14. NOTE: Water pump must be turned 180° to remove from the vehicle.

15. Remove the water pump.

Installation














1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
2. Refill the cooling system.
