With Automatic Transmission
NOTE: Ford does not provide camshaft gear timing marks, or information to perform timing belt service without the special tools shown in this procedure.
Special Tools:
1. NOTE: The location of engine mountings and engine support insulators are described looking from the transaxle to the engine.
General note.
- Steps which apply only to particular variants are indicated with a note.
- If necessary, cut the cable ties and renew during installation.
2. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
3. Move the selector lever to "D".
4. WARNING: When releasing the system pressure, cover the expansion tank cap with a thick cloth to prevent the possibility of coolant scalding. Failure to follow this instructions may result in personal injury.
Release the cooling system pressure.
- Unscrew the expansion tank cap slowly.
5. Make an auxiliary tool for fixing the hood in a wide-open position.
6. Install the auxiliary tool to the hood.
