Bearing Journals

1. Determine the diameter of the main and connecting rod bearing journals
- Using a micrometer repeat the measurement at 90 degrees intervals to determine whether the journals are out-of-round.
- Measure at two different points on the journal to determine if there is any tapering.
- If the measurement is out of the specified range, rework the journals or install a new crankshaft.
