Keyless Entry Module: Description and Operation
The electronic door lock control module contains a radio receiver that receives a signal from the keyless entry remote transmitter through the electronic door lock control module antenna. When a signal is received, the electronic door lock control module sends the appropriate command to the door lock actuators, the horn relay, the luggage compartment release actuator, central timer module, and the exterior lights.
The electronic door lock control module is equipped with battery back-up which maintains the programmed transmitter(s) memory in the event of vehicle battery disconnection.
The antenna is a conventional co-axial cable which receives the signal from the keyless entry remote transmitter and relays it to the electronic door lock control module.
