Inspection and Verification (Start Testing Here)

1. Verify the customer concern by operating the system.
2. Visually inspect for obvious signs of mechanical or electrical damage.

VISUAL INSPECTION CHART

Mechanical
^ Power window regulator.
^ Window run weatherstrip.
^ Door window glass.

Electrical
^ Power distribution box Maxi fuses 14 (40 A) or circuit breaker 7 (20 A).
^ Fuse junction panel fuse 17 (10 A), 6 (15 A), 13 (15 A) or circuit breaker 14 (20 A).
^ Driver Door Module (DDM).
^ Lighting Control Module (LCM).
^ Window regulator control switch.
^ Window regulator electric drive.
^ Heated rear window relay.
^ Heated rear window switch.
^ Heated rear window grid.
^ Hidden antenna module.
^ Loose, corroded connectors.

3. If an obvious cause for an observed or reported concern is found, correct the cause (if possible) before proceeding to the next step.
4. If the New Generation Star (NGS) tester does not power up, refer to the NGS tester manual.
5. Carry out the DATA LINK DIAGNOSTIC TEST. If the NGS tester responds with:
^ CKT914, CKT915 or CKT70 - ALL ECUS NO RESP/NOT EQUIP, refer to Information Bus.
^ NO RESP/NOT EQUIP for the DDM, go to Pinpoint Test A. A: No Communication With Driver Door Module
^ NO RESP/NOT EQUIP for the LCM, go to Pinpoint Test B. B: No Communication With Lighting Control Module
^ System passed, retrieve and record the continuous Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs), erase the continuous DTCs and carry out self-test diagnostics for the DDM and LCM.
6. If the DDM DTCs retrieved are related to the concern, go to the DDM Diagnostic Trouble Code Index. Driver Door Module Diagnostic Trouble Code Index
7. If the LCM DTCs retrieved are related to the concern, go to the LCM Diagnostic Trouble Code Index. LCM Diagnostic Trouble Code Index
8. If no DTCs related to the concern are retrieved, proceed to the Symptom Chart to continue diagnostics. Symptom Related Diagnostic Procedures
