Evaporative Vapor Pressure Sensor: Service and Repair
REMOVALWARNING
^ THE EVAPORATIVE EMISSION SYSTEM CONTAINS FUEL VAPOR AND CONDENSED FUEL VAPOR. ALTHOUGH NOT PRESENT IN LARGE QUANTITIES, IT STILL PRESENTS THE DANGER OF EXPLOSION OR FIRE. DISCONNECT THE BATTERY GROUND CABLE FROM THE BATTERY TO MINIMIZE THE POSSIBILITY OF AN ELECTRICAL SPARK OCCURRING, POSSIBLY CAUSING A FIRE OR EXPLOSION IF FUEL VAPOR OR FUEL LIQUID IS PRESENT IN THE AREA.
^ DO NOT SMOKE OR CARRY LIGHTED TOBACCO OR OPEN FLAME OF ANY TYPE WHEN WORKING ON OR NEAR ANY FUEL RELATED COMPONENT. HIGHLY FLAMMABLE MIXTURES ARE ALWAYS PRESENT AND MAY BE IGNITED, RESULTING IN POSSIBLE PERSONAL INJURY.
^ THE ELECTRICAL POWER TO THE AIR SUSPENSION SYSTEM MUST BE SHUT OFF PRIOR TO HOISTING, JACKING OR TOWING AN AIR SUSPENSION VEHICLE. THIS CAN BE ACCOMPLISHED BY TURNING OFF THE AIR SUSPENSION SWITCH LOCATED IN THE RH KICKPANEL AREA. FAILURE TO DO SO MAY RESULT IN SHIFTING OF THE VEHICLE DURING THESE OPERATIONS.
CAUTION: The fuel tank pressure sensor electrical connector must be disconnected before the fuel tank removal. Failure to do so can cause damage to the fuel tank or fuel tank pressure sensor.
1. Partially drain and lower the fuel tank.
2. Push down and rotate the fuel tank pressure sensor counterclockwise to remove from the fuel tank.
INSTALLATION
1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
2. Leak test the system.
3. Perform the Evaporative Emission Running Loss Monitor Repair Verification Drive Cycle.
