Exterior Lighting (Public Safety - Police Package)
1. Verify the customer concern by operating the system.2. Visually inspect for obvious signs of mechanical and electrical damage.
VISUAL INSPECTION CHART
Mechanical
^ Damaged power relay (located in the Battery Junction Box [BJB])
^ Damaged rear flasher (located in the luggage compartment)
^ Damaged front flasher (located under the RH side of the instrument panel)
^ Damaged Emergency Flasher Relay No. 1 (located in the luggage compartment on the LH side)
^ Damaged Emergency Flasher Relay No. 2 (located in the luggage compartment on the LH side)
Electrical
^ Blown Central Junction Box (CJB) fuses: Fuse 6 (15 A), Fuse 8 (15 A)
^ Blown BJB fuses: Fuse 4 (30 A), Fuse 16 (50 A)
^ Damaged wiring harness
^ Loose or corroded connection
^ Damaged power relay
^ Damaged rear flasher
^ Damaged front flasher
^ Damaged Emergency Flasher Relay No. 1
^ Damaged Emergency Flasher Relay No. 2
3. If an obvious cause for an observed or reported concern is found, correct the cause (if possible) before proceeding to the next step.
4. Verify the stoplamps, turn signals, and hazard warning flasher lamps are operating correctly. Refer to appropriate diagnostic procedures, if necessary.
5. If the concern is not visually evident, verify the symptom and refer to the Symptom Chart. Exterior Lighting (Public Safety - Police Package)
NOTE: Aftermarket vehicle accessories are not covered. Only factory installed police package circuitry and components are covered.
