Initial Inspection and Diagnostic Overview

1. Verify the customer concern by operating the system.
2. Visually inspect for obvious signs of mechanical and electrical damage.

VISUAL INSPECTION CHART

Mechanical
^ Misaligned or damaged Digital Transmission Range (DTR) sensor

Electrical
^ Blown Central Junction Box (CJB) Fuse 5 (15 A)
^ Damaged wiring harness
^ Loose or corroded connection
^ Damaged bulb(s)
^ Damaged DTR sensor

3. If an obvious cause for an observed or reported concern is found, correct the cause (if possible) before proceeding to the next step.
