New Generation Star Tester Diagnostics

1. To enter the New Generation STAR (NGS) Tester diagnostics connect the NGS to the data link connector (DLC) located beneath the instrument panel and select the vehicle to be tested from the NGS menu.
2. If the NGS does not power up, refer to the New Generation STAR tester manual
3. Perform the DATA LINK DIAGNOSTIC TEST. If the NOS Tester responds with:
^ CKT914, CKT915 or CKT70-ALL ECUS NO RESP/NOT EQUIP For additional information, refer to Information Bus. Information Bus
^ NO RESP/NOT EQUIP for hybrid electronic instrument cluster (HEC), go to Pinpoint Test A. A: No Communication With the HEC
^ System passed, retrieve and record the continuous Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTCs) to erase the continuous DTCs and carry out self-test diagnostics for the HEC. Self Diagnostic Mode
4. If the DTCs retrieved are related to the concern, go to the HEC diagnostic trouble code (DTC) index. Diagnostic Trouble Code Tests and Associated Procedures
5. If no DTCs related to the concern are retrieved, proceed to the Symptom Chart to continue diagnostics. Symptom Related Diagnostic Procedures
