Condenser HVAC: Service and Repair

REMOVAL
1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Reclaim the refrigerant.
3. Raise and support the vehicle.







4. Remove the radiator splash shield.







5. Disconnect the upper and lower tubes from the air conditioning condenser.

NOTE: Seal the tubes and the tube connections with plugs.







6. Remove the air conditioning condenser from the radiator crossmember.







7. Remove the air conditioning condenser.
^ Disengage the air conditioning condenser from its mountings at the top by lifting up the condenser, push it towards the grille and remove it.

CAUTION: Do not damage the radiator fins.












INSTALLATION
1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

CAUTION: Do not damage the radiator fins.

NOTE:
^ Install new O-ring seals and coat with refrigerant oil.
^ When the battery has been disconnected and reconnected, some abnormal drive symptoms may occur while the vehicle relearns its adaptive strategy. The vehicle may need to be driven 16 km (10 miles) or more to relearn the strategy.
