ISSUE
A "harsh" shift event, usually on the 3-2 downshift after a 1-3 upshift may occur on some vehicles. This may occur during heavy traffic with frequent "stop-and-go" driving. Some vehicles may also exhibit a harsh, light throttle, 1-2 upshift. This may be caused by the transmission band being applied to bring on 2nd gear without the hydraulic servo pressure being adequately modulated.
ACTION
Reprogram the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) and change the CD4E servo components described in the Service Procedure for details.
NOTE
THE CALIBRATIONS AND SERVO COMPONENTS LISTED IN THIS TSB MUST BE USED TOGETHER. MIXING COMPONENTS AND/OR CALIBRATIONS MAY CAUSE REDUCED TRANSMISSION DURABILITY AND SHIFT COMPLAINTS.
