Lifter / Lash Adjuster: Service and Repair

Removal

1. CAUTION: Mark the position of the camshaft follower and hydraulic lash adjuster to make sure they are assembled in their original position if they are to be reused.

Remove the camshaft follower.





2. Remove the hydraulic lash adjuster.

Installation

1. NOTE: Inspect the hydraulic lash adjuster and install a new lash adjuster as necessary.

Install the hydraulic lash adjuster.
^ Use Engine assembly lubricant or equivalent meeting Ford specification ESR-M99C80-A and lubricate the hydraulic lash adjuster before installation.

2. Install the camshaft follower.
