Front Door Latch: Service and Repair

REMOVAL
1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
2. Remove the door trim panel.







3. Peel back the watershield.

CAUTION: Do not touch the adhesive surface as re-bonding will be impaired.







4. Disconnect the lock cylinder actuator rod.







5. Disconnect the door handle actuator rod.
1 Rotate the clip through 90 degrees.
2 Disconnect the actuator rod.







6. Disconnect the electrical connector.







7. Remove the latch screws.







8. Remove the latch.







9. Disconnect the cable from the latch.
1 Detach the cable from the latch.
2 Rotate the cable.
3 Disconnect the cable.

INSTALLATION







1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
