Front Pump and Reservoir
REMOVAL1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
2. Disconnect the engine sub-harness electrical connectors.
3. Remove the engine sub-harness bolt and position assembly aside.
4. Remove the windshield washer reservoir bolts.
5. Pull the windshield washer reservoir straight up and remove.
6. Disconnect the windshield washer pump electrical connector and hose.
7. Drain the windshield washer reservoir into a suitable, clean container so that the washer solvent can be reused.
8. Pry the windshield washer pump from the windshield washer reservoir.
9. Remove the windshield washer pump to reservoir seal and discard if it shows any signs of wear.
INSTALLATION
1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
CAUTION: Do not make electrical connection prior to filling the windshield washer reservoir. Do not operate the windshield washer pump prior to filling the windshield washer reservoir.
NOTE: When the battery is disconnected and reconnected, some abnormal drive symptoms may occur while the vehicle relearns its adaptive strategy. The vehicle may need to be driven 16 km (10 mi) or more to relearn the strategy.
