Clutch Master Cylinder: Service and Repair

REMOVAL





1. Disconnect the clutch master cylinder hose from the clutch master cylinder and plug it to prevent excess fluid loss.

CAUTION: Brake fluid is harmful to painted and plastic surfaces. If brake fluid is spilled onto a painted or plastic surface, wash it off immediately with water.





2. Disconnect the lower clutch slave cylinder tube from the clutch master cylinder.





3. Remove the clutch master cylinder nut from inside the passenger compartment.





4. Remove the clutch master cylinder nut and the clutch master cylinder from the engine compartment.

INSTALLATION





1. Align the clutch pedal to clutch release lever rod with the clutch master cylinder and install the clutch master cylinder.





2. Install the clutch master cylinder nut in the engine compartment.





3. Install the clutch master cylinder nut in the passenger compartment.





4. Connect the lower clutch slave cylinder tube to the clutch master cylinder.





5. Connect the clutch master cylinder hose to the clutch master cylinder.
6. Bleed the air from the system.
