Transmission Cooler: Service and Repair

Special Tools:

1. When internal damage has occurred in the transmission, metal particles, clutch plate material, or band material may have been carried into the transmission cooler. These contaminants must be cleaned out of the transmission cooler and fluid cooler inlet tubes before the transmission is put back into use. To clean the transmission cooler, use a mechanically agitated cleaner such as Torque Converter/Oil Cooler Cleaner. Follow all of the manufacturer's instructions for proper use.
