OTD - Time Lag Test

1. Use a stopwatch to measure the time lag between the gearshift lever positions.
2. Connect 88 Digital Multimeter as a tachometer.
3. Turn Key ON, Engine Running (KOER).
4. Depress brake pedal and shift the gearshift lever from N to (OD) range.
5. Measure and record the elapsed time between the shifting of the gearshift lever and the feel of the shift engagement.
6. Idle the engine in N range for 1 minute to allow the Automatic Transmission Fluid (ATF) to cool.
7. Depress the brake pedal and shift the gearshift lever from N to R range.
8. Measure and record the elapsed time between the shifting of the gearshift lever and the feel of the shift engagement.

9. Repeat the Operational Test OTD - time lag test three times and average the results. Time lag should be approximately between 0.9 - 1.1 seconds. Refer to Time Lag Evaluation Chart.
