OTB - Line Pressure Test

Line Pressure Test

1. Connect pressure gauge to the line pressure inspection port (Square head plug L).

2. Start engine.

3. Apply the parking brake and block the wheels.

4. Shift the gearshift lever to the (D) position.

5. Read and record the line pressure at idle.

CAUTION: The following steps must be completed within five seconds, followed by cooling the automatic transmission fluid (ATF). The ATF can be cooled by placing the automatic transmission (A/T) in neutral for one minute while the engine is at idle. Otherwise, damages to the automatic transmission may occur.

6. Press the accelerator to the floor, wide-open throttle (WOT).

7. Read and record the line pressure with the engine at constant speed.

8. Release the accelerator pedal.

NOTE: If the Electronic Pressure Control (EPC) solenoid fails, the automatic transmission will operate at full line pressure.

9. Compare the test results with the line pressure specification chart.

CAUTION: Cool the ATF between each gear position being tested to avoid damages to the transmission.

10. Repeat Line Pressure Test for the each of the following gearshift lever positions: R, D, and L.
