Disassembly and Reassembly

REMOVAL
1. Remove the strut and spring assembly.





2. Mount the assembly in a suitable holding fixture and use a strut spring compressor to compress the front coil spring.

WARNING: ALWAYS WEAR SAFETY GOGGLES WHEN USING A SPRING COMPRESSOR.





3. Remove the shock absorber piston rod nut and remove the front shock absorber mounting bracket.





4. Remove the (A) bound stopper, (B) dust boot, (C) rubber spring seat, (D) spring, (E) upper spring seat, and (F) thrust bearing.

INSTALLATION





1. To assemble, reverse the disassembly procedure.

NOTE:
^ New fasteners must be used when old fasteners are loosened.
^ Ensure that an alignment is performed any time the strut and spring assembly of the front shock absorber mounting bracket bots are loosened.
^ be sure the spring is properly seated in the insulator.
