Ball Joint: Service and Repair

REMOVAL
1. Raise and support the vehicle.





2. Remove the (A) lug nuts and the (B) wheel and tire assembly.





3. Remove the nut and the pinch bolt.





4. Separate the front suspension lower arm ball joint from the front wheel knuckle.





5. Remove the two ball joint nuts and remove the front suspension lower arm ball joint.

INSTALLATION











1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

NOTE:
^ new fasteners must be used when old fasteners are loosened and/or removed.
^ Apply Threadlock 262 E2FZ-19554-B or equivalent thread locking compound meeting Ford specification WSK-M2G351-A1 to the ball joint nut and ball joint bolt threads.
