Tie Rod End: Testing and Inspection

1. Disconnect the tie rod end from the front wheel spindle.

NOTE: This check may be done with the power rack and pinion steering gear on or off the vehicle.

2. Hook Spring Scale over the front wheel spindle tie rod and measure the force required to move the front wheel spindle tie rod.
3. If the force required to move the front wheel spindle tie rod does not meet the specifications, replace the front wheel spindle tie rod.
