Flow of Diagnosis

INSPECTION AND VERIFICATION
1. Verify the customer concern by operating the ignition switch and the multi-function switch housing with switches attached.
2. Visually inspect the ignition switch and the multi-function switch housing with switches attached for damage; refer to Visual Inspection Chart:
Mechanical
^ Damaged ignition switch
^ Damaged shift cable and bracket (A/T)
^ Damaged turn signal switch
^ Damaged hazard/flasher switch
^ Damaged wiper/washer switch
Electrical
^ Loose or corroded connection
^ Failed fuse(s)
^ 100 A MAIN
^ 10 A ROOM
^ Circuitry
3. If binding occurs, turn the steering wheel left or right to release any pressure on the ignition switch and verify that the ignition key is cut properly.
4. If the cause of the malfunction cannot be found by visual inspection, refer to diagnosis by symptom for further diagnosis. Symptom Related Diagnostic Procedures
