Throttle Body: Service and Repair

REMOVAL
1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
2. Remove the air cleaner outlet tube.







3. Disconnect the (1) speed control actuator, the (2) accelerator cable.







4. Disconnect the (A) idle air control valve and the (B) throttle position sensor electrical connectors.







5. Remove the vacuum line from the bottom of the throttle body and position it aside.







6. Remove the four bolts and the throttle body.
7. Remove and discard the Throttle Body gasket (TB gasket).

CAUTION: If scraping is necessary to remove gasket material, be sure not to damage the gasket surfaces of the intake manifold or the throttle body.








INSTALLATION
1. Follow the removal procedure in reverse order.

NOTE: Use a new throttle body gasket when installing.
