Fuel Line Coupler: Service and Repair

Disconnect Tool, Spring Lock Coupling:











Special Tools Desired

DISCONNECT

WARNING:
- DO NOT SMOKE OR CARRY LIGHTED TOBACCO OR AN OPEN FLAME OF ANY TYPE WHEN WORKING ON OR NEAR ANY FUEL RELATED COMPONENT. HIGHLY FLAMMABLE MIXTURES ARE ALWAYS PRESENT AND MAY BE IGNITED, RESULTING IN POSSIBLE PERSONAL INJURY.
- FUEL IN THE FUEL SYSTEM REMAINS UNDER HIGH PRESSURE EVEN WHEN THE ENGINE IS NOT RUNNING.
- BEFORE REPAIRING OR DISCONNECTING ANY OF THE FUEL LINES OR FUEL SYSTEM COMPONENTS, THE FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE MUST BE RELIEVED.


1. Perform the fuel pressure release procedure.







2. Remove the fuel line clip.







3. Install disconnect tool.







4. Close and push disconnect tool into the open side of the cage.







5. Separate the fitting.







6. Remove Disconnect Tool.

CONNECT







1. Inspect and clean both coupling ends. Replace the O-rings and garter springs if necessary.






2. Fit the (A) male fitting into the (B) female end and push until the garter spring snaps over the flared end of the female fitting.

NOTE: Lubricate the O-rings with clean engine oil.







3. Verify coupling engagement by pulling on the lines.







4. Install the fuel line clip.
