Canister Purge Control Valve: Service and Repair

REMOVAL
1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.

WARNING: THE EVAPORATIVE EMISSION SYSTEM CONTAINS FUEL VAPOR AND CONDENSED FUEL VAPOR. ALTHOUGH NOT PRESENT IN LARGE QUANTITIES, IT STILL PRESENTS THE DANGER OF EXPLOSION OR FIRE. DISCONNECT THE BATTERY GROUND CABLE FROM THE BATTERY TO MINIMIZE THE POSSIBILITY OF AN ELECTRICAL SPARK OCCURRING, POSSIBLY CAUSING A FIRE OR EXPLOSION IF FUEL VAPOR OR FUEL LIQUID IS PRESENT IN THE AREA.







2. Disconnect the canister purge valve electrical connector.







3. Remove the fuel vapor line, control vacuum line and the fuel vapor tube.







4. Remove the nuts and evaporative emission canister purge valve.







INSTALLATION
1. Follow the removal procedure in reverse order.
2. Perform the Evaporative Emission System Leak Test. EVAP System Leak Test
3. Run the Evaporative Emission Running Loss Monitor Repair Verification Drive Cycle. EVAP Running Loss System Repair Verification
