Compressor Fitting HVAC: Service and Repair
REMOVAL1. Recover the refrigerant. Refrigerant Recovery
2. Remove the fan shroud.
3. Remove the screws and reposition the power steering pump reservoir.
4. Remove the A/C manifold and tube support clip retaining bolt.
5. Disconnect the A/C manifold and tube spring lock coupling.
CAUTION: Plug all ports to prevent contamination from dirt or moisture.
6. Remove the bolt.
7. Disconnect the A/C manifold and tube spring lock coupling.
CAUTION: Plug all ports to prevent contamination from dirt or moisture.
8. Raise and support the vehicle.
9. Remove the screws and the radiator air deflector.
10. Detach the A/C manifold and tube from the A/C manifold and tube support clip.
11. Loosen the A/C manifold and tube retaining bolt and remove the A/C manifold and tube.
CAUTION: Plug all ports to prevent contamination from dirt or moisture.
INSTALLATION
1. Follow the removal procedure in reverse order.
- Lubricate the O-ring seals with PAG Compressor Oil Motorcraft YN-12b F2AZ-19577-AC or equivalent meeting Ford specification WSH-M1C231-B.
- Apply Pipe Sealant with Teflon(R) D8AZ-1955-A or equivalent meeting Ford specifications WSK-M2G350-A2 and ESR-M18P7-A to the threads of the A/C manifold retaining bolt.
