With Transmission and Flywheel Removed


NOTE:
- Inspect for leakage in the area around the crankshaft rear oil seal and flywheel bolts. If the leakage is from the flywheel bolts, apply Pipe Sealant with Teflon D8AZ-19554-A or equivalent meeting Ford specifications WSK-M2G350-A2 and ESR-M18P7-A to the threads and tighten to specification.
- Light leakage equally around valve cover bolts and crankshaft seals is not detrimental; no repairs are required.

Check the following for oil leaks:
- crankshaft front seal.
- crankshaft rear oil seal.
- crankshaft rear oil seal retainer gasket.
- oil pan gasket.
- flywheel bolts.
- oil gallery plugs at the end of oil passages.
- inspect all cast parts for leakage due to porosity.
